Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 September 2026

These terms apply to the services WEfin provides to you and to your use of the website wefin.pt and the client portal portal.wefin.pt. By creating an account or engaging our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About WEfin and these terms

WEfin is a tax-compliance service established in Portugal. Contact: info@wefin.pt.

In these terms, “we” or “WEfin” means WEfin, “you” means the client using our services, and “the service” means the managed tax-compliance service described below.

2. The service

WEfin prepares and submits Portuguese tax filings and related registrations on your behalf, based on the information and access you provide. Depending on your situation and plan, this can include:

  • VAT (IVA) returns and related declarations
  • Tourist tax reporting to the municipality
  • Modelo 30 and other withholding-related filings
  • Issuing invoices and receipts (recibos) for your rental activity
  • RNAL registration renewals for alojamento local
  • Annual personal income tax (IRS) returns
  • Bookkeeping and overviews to support these filings

The exact scope of the service is shown in the pricing tool and confirmed when you sign up. Services outside that scope are agreed separately.

3. What WEfin is not

WEfin is a managed tax-compliance service. WEfin does not act as your fiscal representative (representante fiscal) and does not assume that role, or the liability that comes with it, unless expressly agreed in a separate written agreement.

If you are resident outside the EU/EEA, Portuguese law may require you to appoint a fiscal representative in Portugal. This is not part of the service described in these terms; we can tell you how to arrange it.

WEfin does not provide legal advice, investment advice or audit services.

4. Your obligations

To let us deliver the service correctly and on time, you agree to:

  • provide complete, accurate and timely information, documents and booking data;
  • give us working access to the tax portal (Portal das Finanças) and other systems needed for your filings, and keep those credentials up to date;
  • tell us promptly about any change in your situation (residency, ownership, activity, bank details, contact details);
  • check the overviews and drafts we share with you and report errors without delay;
  • pay our invoices on time.

You remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. Filings are prepared on the basis of that information.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in the pricing tool at portal.wefin.pt/pricing and confirmed when you sign up. Prices are in euros; VAT is shown separately where applicable.

Subscription fees are invoiced in advance for each billing period. Other services are invoiced when agreed or delivered. Invoices are payable within 14 days unless stated otherwise.

If an invoice remains unpaid after a reminder, we may suspend the service until payment is received. Statutory interest and reasonable collection costs may be charged on late payments.

We may change our prices with at least 30 days’ notice. If you do not accept a price change, you can cancel before it takes effect.

6. Term and cancellation

The agreement starts when you sign up and runs for the subscription period shown in the pricing tool. It renews automatically unless cancelled.

You can cancel at any time through the client portal or by e-mail, effective at the end of the current billing period. We can cancel with 30 days’ notice, or immediately if you breach these terms or if continuing would expose us to legal risk.

On cancellation we complete the filings that fall due before the end date and for which we have received the information. We then hand over your records and delete your tax portal credentials. Records we are legally required to keep are retained for the statutory period (see our privacy policy).

7. Liability

We deliver the service with reasonable care and skill, using the information you give us.

WEfin is not liable for penalties, interest or other consequences resulting from incomplete, incorrect or late information or access provided by you, from decisions of the tax authorities based on such information, or from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid to WEfin in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Confidentiality and data protection

We treat your information as confidential and process personal data in accordance with our privacy policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will notify you at least 30 days before significant changes take effect. If you continue using the service after that date, the updated terms apply.

10. Governing law and language

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Disputes are submitted to the competent Portuguese courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you.

These terms are available in several languages. In case of any difference between versions, the English version prevails.
